Maps, airports, and the drive to Le Portage on the Cabot Trail
The fairways at Le Portage Golf Club sweep across a plateau above the Cape Breton Highlands and the Gulf of St. Lawrence — an 18-hole, par-72, 6,787-yard Moote design on the world-famous Cabot Trail.
Our clubhouse is visible from Les Trois Pignons, with overflow parking below the arena’s main parkade. We’re just north of the Acadian village of Chéticamp on the Cabot Trail, with sweeping coastal views.

Driving from Sydney or Halifax
From Sydney Airport (national and international connections), allow roughly 2 hours 15 minutes by road. From Halifax Stanfield (about 4 hours to Chéticamp), rent a car across Nova Scotia’s pastoral coast or connect to Sydney and drive north through fishing villages to Cape Breton’s west coast. Car rentals are available at Sydney Airport.
Travelling with non-golfers
Non-golfers can fill the day with history, boutiques, beaches, trails, whale tours, kayaking, tennis, horseback riding, and more — while you’re on the course or exploring the village together.
